Aku menonton filem Habibie & Ainun (2012).

-Pak Habibie.

Tatkala ombak menghempas ganas
Tika hujan turun menyembah lebat
Bila angin berhembus kencang
Saat mentari memancar terik
Dikala guruh berdentum gagah
Arus sungai menderu laju
Kendati semuanya datang serentak
Manusia tetap mampu berdiri tegak
Hanya bila hatinya tegar tak bergerak
Tuhan pernah berfirman
Perihal betapa keras hati manusia
Bahkan batu bukan tandingan
Meskipun demikian
Hati yang tegar itu tetap berdoa;
Wahai Tuhan Yang Maha Penyantun
Berlembutlah dengan ciptaanMu ini...
Wahai Tuhan Yang Maha Penyantun
Berlembutlah dengan kami...
Ya Latif..ultuf bina

Coffee Prince...

I first watched Coffee Prince in 2008 after some trouble befallen upon me. It wasnt my first korean drama. My first korean drama was "Full House" which was aired on Channel 8, chinese dubbed.

Coffee Prince is about a girl who is struggling for life, working restlessly to provide support to her family. She met a guy who is inheriting the wealth of his family. She initially pretend as a boy in order to work for the guy, only to know "he" is a "she" much later. It's a love drama, so eventually they fall for each other and the love blossomed. The storyline is interesting. The emotion in the drama is immense. I've watched the special edition sequel and I saw the actors and actresses were literally crying when the series comes to an end.

I love the positive vibe shown by the girl. The world is turning its back against her. She never give up. She strives to achieve her ambition. Free ride is not her style, nor to be dependant on others. On another note, I do believe the actress, Yoon Eun-hye is positive in real life as she was in the series. She is adorable too.

Anyway, the series did fill my weekend with positive vibes. I watched it first in 2008 and I am watching it again in 2015. It still fascinates me. My rating will be 9/10 (I am disturbed by the love plot of the supporting roles). Anyway, live well Go Eun-chan. Thank you for such a wonderful series and positive vibes.

I have been a busy bee lately. Daily tasks at the office, family matters back home and extra office events to attend.

The Grounds
Disposing cases after  full trial warrants full analysis of evidence. These analysis should be listed so a just conclusion can be formulated. I try to keep the habit of preparing grounds of judgment before delivering a decision after a full trial. I find it convenient to everybody and the process thereafter will be smoother. I am restless, yet contented. I have done to the best of my ability in discharging my duty and I hope I will be able to answer firmly on the day of judgment before the Almighty.

Magna Carta Exhibition
The celebration of 800th years of Magna Carta was held in Pulau Pinang. Malaysia, a commonwealth country was selected to host exhibition of Magna Carta. The materials were brought from London with addition of local antiques. I served as the tourist guide for visitors from educational institutions. An exhaustive week it was.

Merdeka!
I might be wrong but I cant sense the vibes of merdeka celebration this year. Maybe too much national issues are on air which clouded the merdeka waves. Yet, patriotic as I always be, I am grateful to live in this multi racial country. Our forefathers fought for its independence in their own peculiar way. The politician went to London and the peasants are donating monies and jewellery to fund the politician trip. People are judgmental of what is happening in this country now. My stance is always that instead of airing views or critics, I believe in asking myself what I have done for this country in the domain or space which are within my rule and power. Pointing a finger to others is easy, yet there are three more fingers pointing at ourselves. The future generation will be in a better position to judge what is happening now as they might be able to see the outcome of what is going on today.

I was born and bred in Malaysia. I might have been tourist in foreign land and saw something better there, yet I am still proud of Malaysia. Some who where sent abroad to study had commented about how heavenly the years they spent abroad and belittling this country. Thee who spent our monies to study abroad, come and join us building this country, instead making comparisons which would not earn you a Master in Comparative Countries.

Some say there are ashamed of the devaluation of ringgit. It's ok if you feel unfortunate but why must you be ashamed? Have some pride of being Malaysian. Even if this country become worst, no foreign country will embrace you with arm wide open to be their citizen (unless you have something which might keep them interested in you). Further more, if you are living in Butterworth Pulau Pinang, you might see Caucasians at your place, but they don't even bother to insult you about your currency.

In short, lets try our best to do the best in whatever is within our control. A teacher must teach his or her student to the best of his ability, alike for the lawyers, social workers, factory operators etc.

For this country I love, MERDEKA!

MATLAMAT SEBENAR BERPUASA: ADAKAH UNTUK MENGEJAR PAHALA?

Segala puji-pujian hanyalah selayaknya buat Tuhan Pencipta. Sebaik-baik selawat dan salam buat Rasul tercinta. Segala kebaikan buat mereka yang memenuhi tuntutan keduanya.

Ramadhan tiba lagi dan kita terpilih untuk bertemu dengannya. Dalam bulan mulia ini, kita berpuasa, mendirikan malamnya, memberi makan kepada yang berpuasa, menghulurkan bantuan kepada yang kurang berupaya, tak kurang juga yang berhasrat untuk menurunkan berat badan agar lebih ideal. Jadi apa yang kita kerjakan itu, adakah untuk pahala, keredhaanNya, Keampunan ataupun puji-pujian manusia. Firman Allah di dalam Surah Al Baqarah ayat 183;

My friends and I joined Jana Manjung Fellowship ride. The route is 130km. The horn was blown at 7.00AM. I rode my Dahon IOS D9 and the wheel is 24". My two friends rode 20" folding bike.

130KM......

We were smiling before it started

The crowd and we keep smiling

The crowd

There were 3 water stations. The first water station was after 50km. The second water station was at 80th km. The third one was at 110th km. I drank at each water stations, yet, there was no call from the nature. I think all water was dehydrated through my sweat. After the 1st water station, the terrain was challenging. Up and down we go. Others are riding road bikes and mountain bikes with slick tyres. I did with my folding bike. I reached the finish line around 1.45PM. That was 6 hours and 45 minutes of cycling. I am glad I managed to finish my first Jana Manjung ride. My other two friends were cycling fast like a lorry, or to be precise, cycling on the lorry. (HAHAHAHA).

The Tale of Cross of Taman Medan.

People are rumbling on the demonstration held at Taman Medan against the cross being put outside the church. We then see views expressed, for the demonstrator and against them. Every tiny details were dug out and sensationalized. Political movements are not left behind and joined the brawl. Correct teaching of Islam on treatment of other religion and the history thereof were laid down by many, some are qualified, most are not. The local authority then added salt to the wound by declaring that permit was not obtained for the unit to be held as place of worship. The Chief Minister statement gave effect to the contrary.

The demonstrator protested against the cross being displayed outside the Church and the Church, as reported by Malaysiakini had agreed to take it down (with much respect for the move taken by the Church). If the issue is viewed objectively, it is done with and further discussion is academic. Employing the analogy and term used in Court of law, consent judgment can be recorded! Thus, why it is still in the news?

TERJEMAHAN

I am an avid swimmer. But with restriction on time of usage of public swimming pools, I was searching for an alternative. I had jogging in mind, but the pain I have to bare post exercise always put jogging out of the list for a long period of time. So I need to find an alternative, soon.

I was thinking of cycling. So I started reading on cycling. I find some are taking cycling to another level, cycling for hundreds of kilometres for days, whereas some are climbing steep mountains and hills. A friend of mind broke his shoulder (scapula which the award is ranged between RM11k to RM19.5k for personal injury claim) in the midst of cycling down a hill. I am not looking at hundreds of miles cycling nor climbing or running down high hills. I just want to perform 30-45 minutes exercise daily. I then sought counsel from a friend. He suggested folding bike. He convinced me that folding bike is the best for those who is seeking recreational ride, since it is mobile, can be folded and easily fit into the trunk. So I started reading on folding bike. The reading lasted for 3 days.

From the reading, I find there is Brompton. It's like Ferrari of folding bike. I recalled a documentary where President of the Supreme Court of the UK was riding a bicycle and it is a Brompton! There are few more premium brand which I do not wish to name it here. Through my readings, I came across brand by the name of Tern and Dahon. These two came from a single company which later split because of internal dispute. They have serious R&D dan they only produce folding bikes. The joints they have on their bicycle which make them possible to be folded is patented. So I decide, I should have any of these two.

One fine day, I went to Kuantan Mountain Bike Shop, which sold Dahon Vybe C7A. I had a short ride and I love what I rode. So I bought it.

The folded bicycle in the shop
The bicycle at home in Kuantan.
Since this is my first bicycle I bought in my adolescent year, I am more than satisfied with this bicycle. To date, I have been riding it for more than 100km. Saturday morning will take more hours than usual, since I will be having my teh tarik and nasi lemak at pekan Bukit Mertajam (17-18km ride). I've been carrying it home to Tapah, Perak and it fit nicely in the trunk. So, if anyone thinks of having recreational cycling with portable bicycle, I would suggest a folding bike.

Don't forget to buy helmet and tail light as these two are necessity and a must for our own safety. If there is more budget, get a front light so we will be able to have a night ride and speedometer to track how far have we gone with the bicycle. I am thinking of riding my bike to the workplace, just like what Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers did,  for a healthier lifestyle. But for now, that's all for a happy story of Dahon Vybe C7A owner.
